After more than 5 years we are finally going to get second season of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei.
Announcement were made at Dengeki Bunko Aki no Namahousou Festival event . Next season Titled as Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Raihousha-hen (The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc) is currently scheduled to release in Summer  2020. Studio 8 Bit will be doing the production . A 15 second teaser is also released on Twitter by animes official  account .

About the Series :

  Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei is a series based on light novel by Tsutomu Satou , which started serialisation in 2011. It has total of 30 volumes published till now . It got its first anime adaption in spring 2014 , which had 26 Episodes and covered 9 Volumes. 
  Story sets in the world where magic exits and having skilled magician is of utmost importance to the nation . Hence there are many institute who teach these gifted ones how to skillfully use there abilities , in one of such school  Tatsuya Shiba the protagonist of the series gets admitted along with his sister . But after taking exam his put into downgraded course showing his inability to use magic . Meanwhile he does have excellent physical abilities and technical knowledge making him the odd on at the institute. 

What and When to Expect Season 2 : 


  Next season is titled as Raihousha-hen, which in English means visitors arc. It will cover volumes from 9 to 12. Hence we can assume 12 Episode long season.There is no news of delay as such due to COVID-19 crisis so it will most probably air in July 2020 itself .
